The Flush Portlight is a development of Lewmar’s Standard Portlight. The objective was to minimise the number of textures, angles and levels in order to minimise the visual impact of the portlight on the boat.
In the Flush Portlight the acrylic has been moved as far forward as possible to make it approximately flush with the mounting surface, to do this 12mm acrylic is used where portlights normally use 8 to 10mm. The outer frame has been made as flat as possible and the angled face of the Standard Portlight has been removed. This has increased the quantity of alloy in the frame. The outer frame is powder coated black in colour to camouflage to the acrylic lens. This is more costly than the anodising that is normally used.
All portlights must be fitted on a flat surface with a maximum tolerance of +/-1mm. Note: maximum hull thickness is 11mm
