Newport, Rhode Island is hosting the 2019 12 Metre World Championship, July 8-13. Twenty two 12 Metres from around the globe have convened on Newport to compete in the same waters where the America’s Cup was contested for many years. Lewmar is well represented in the fleet with winches and pedestal systems on many of the boats. The newest Lewmar winch package belongs to US-30 Freedom, who upgraded to all new GP winches and pedestals in 2018. Lewmar’s Newport Shipyard office is on hand to support Freedom, Challenge XII, Victory ’83 and all of the other Lewmar equipped boats throughout the Championship.
